ATHENS- Edward Poston Steiner passed away at home on July 11, 2024. Born June 7, 1969, and known to friends and family as Ted, he was the son of Bruce Edward Steiner and Catherine McQuaid Steiner.
Ted was a champion swimmer in his youth, a lover of the Boston Red Sox, and a devoted fan of Neil Young, having received his first Neil Young record from a friend at the age of five. He studied Anthropology and Archeology, earning a B.A. at Miami University of Ohio, and a Masters at Louisiana State in Baton Rouge. He later studied Comparative Arts at Ohio University.
As an artist, Ted showed his paintings and photography at the French Art Colony in Gallipolis, Starbrick Gallery in Nelsonville, and at Alden Library and Memorial Auditorium at Ohio University in Athens.
A lifelong resident of Southeastern Ohio, Ted was co-owner of Stacked Stones in the Hocking Hills with Sunshine Steiner.
He is survived by his sister Beth Steiner, family members Sunshine and Indigo Steiner, and family friend Doug Latz.
