CHAUNCEY- Ellen Marie Fennell, age 93 of Chauncey, died early Monday morning, Sept. 4, 2023 at her home.  Born Dec. 30, 1929 in The Plains, she was the daughter of the late William Goodman and Edith Showalter Goodman.

A graduate of The Plains High School, she had been employed at McBee’s Corp., Bromley Hall, Henry’s Restaurant and McCafferty’s Store both of Chauncey.  

Ellen is survived by three sons, Robert (Bonnie) Fennell of Marietta, Thomas (Nora) Fennell of Chauncey and Tommy Fennell of Chauncey; four grandchildren, Ian Fennell, Eric Fennell, Danny (Tina Congrove) Fennell and Misty Carsey; eight great grandchildren; and five step grandchildren; sister in law & brother in law, Ida & Albert Keirns of Albany; several friends including: Debra & Douglas Adams, Dora Harden, Janet & Jimmie Davis, Bernard & Ada Cheatwood, Marie Perry, Chester Daines, Kelly & John Sebring, Vick & Jacque Mayles, Verna Nabel, and Bill Goodman.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband in 2007, Robert Douglas Fennell; a sister, Edie West; and two brothers, John and William Goodman.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of OhioHealth Home Care & Hospice and also Debra & Douglas Adams for the loving care Ellen received.
