ATHENS- Ethel Sue (Seipel) Jeffers, of Athens, Ohio and Canal Fulton, Ohio born December 31, 1944 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Charles Seipel and Nora “Peggy” Howard Seipel. She died peacefully at home on August 12, 2023.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Jeffers; two sisters, Helen Young (Richard) of New Marshfield, Ohio and Marta Green (Williams) of Sanger, Texas. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas Jeffers in 2018, and a sister Carol Skidmore.
Sue graduated Shade High School in 1964 and married a fellow Shade graduate Floyd Thomas Jeffers of Athens. After graduation they moved to northeast Ohio and finally settled in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Sue worked in several insurance related positions, finally retiring at 62 as a customer service agent for Leonard Insurance Services.
Sue preferred to stay indoors to guard her very fair skin but liked to spend time playing card games and word finds. She also learned how to crochet at a young age and liked to craft while she was able.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday August 19th at 12:30 pm at the Jeffers Family Cemetery on Pleasanton Road in Athens, Ohio with Rev. James Lambert officiating. She will be buried beside her husband of 54 years Floyd Thomas Jeffers. A reception will follow with a light lunch at the Shade Community Center at 2:00 pm.
