ATHENS, Ohio – The City of Athens will host a public open house from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in Multipurpose Room A of the Athens Community Center, to gather community input on accessibility throughout City facilities.
As part of the City’s ADA self-evaluation and transition planning process, City facilities have been evaluated to identify barriers that may affect accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
The open house will provide an opportunity for community members to learn about barriers identified during the evaluation and share their experiences, concerns, and priorities.
Information about various City facilities will be displayed throughout the room, highlighting accessibility barriers related to areas such as entrances, parking, accessible routes, restrooms, signage, service areas, and other building features.
Attendees are encouraged to move through the displays at their own pace, review the findings,
and provide feedback. Community input will help inform the City’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and develop its ADA Transition Plan. The public is encouraged to attend at any time between 5–7 p.m.
