Dog of the Week: Sunset

Sunset: female Vizsla/hound mix, ~1 yo, 40#, FOUND on Columbus Road, Athens. 12-28-23

What is this adorable, friendly gal still doing in the shelter? Sunset may be all puppy, but she is one very good young girl. At just 10 months, Sunset has already picked up a few tricks. She can sit on command and she is an excellent play partner with other dogs. She demonstrates restraint when other dogs don’t want to play, but she bounds, dodges and wrestles when she’s with a willing playmate. She exudes joy and on walks will pick up the biggest stick she can find and carry it with pride.

Sunset does have a lot of energy, likely a combination of her age and breed. But she is smart, demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, and pays attention to her handler. She will be so much fun to train and love. Sunset is an incredible dog in the making — don’t miss out on a chance to have her in your life!
