Ivan E. “Jan” Righter Jr., 64 of Glouster passed away Sunday April 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 24, 1960, in Columbus.
He recently retired from Abner’s Casual Dinings in Hilliard. Jan was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan.
He is survived by a sister, Joy (Don) Coey of Glouster; nephews, Gary Lee McKee and Terry (Rachael) Coey; great nieces and great nephews, Evan Scott, Marie Peters, Nico McKee, Andrew Coey, Brennan Smith, and Chloe Coey; his work family, Gordon, Robin, Sean, CeCe, Wendy, Steve, Marlene, and Jackie; and his little play buddy, Barney Boo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen M. Workman and his father, Ivan E. Righter Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday April 17, 2025, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Mountville Cemetery, Morgan County. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
