ATHENS, Ohio –– The City of Athens would like to notify residents and businesses that beginning Monday, Feb. 23, a contractor will be performing work within the public right-of-way for a utility improvement project. The project includes the installation of a new 6-inch waterline along Jacobs Drive, from Stoneybrook Drive to Graham Drive. This improvement will provide water service and fire protection to the Athens County Children Services facility.
Work will occur during normal construction hours and may result in temporary traffic impacts and construction activity within the right-of-way. Access to properties will be maintained.
Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution in the work area and follow posted signage.
