LOGAN, Ohio — James Michael LaFollette, fondly known as “Shorty/Dawg,” 69 of Logan, formerly of Glouster passed away Friday, July 21, 2023. Born April 13, 1954, in Athens, he was the son of the late James Julius and Phyllis Eileene Rankin LaFollette.
He loved playing guitar and spending time with family and friends. Mike never knew a stranger. He retired from River Park, formerly known as Lakeview Apartments, after several years of service.
He is survived by eight children: Kisha LaFollette, James (Sallie) LaFollette, Norma (Caden) Ridley,
Christian (Nicole) LaFollette, Lori LaFollette, Cindy LaFollette, Michael LaFollette and Jennifer (Brad)
Reynolds; special grandchildren Alexis LaFollette, Tegan Malone, Bethany Beck, and several other
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Richard LaFollette; and his best friend, his dog Punky.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Blackford, and a special uncle, Lowell Rankin.
Funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel,
Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Linda Berry officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will be 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
