NELSONVILLE— Karyl Lee Jones, 78, of Nelsonville, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2023, in New Lexington. Born March 16, 1944, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Hill Tuckerman and Kathryn Juhling Tuckerman.
A 1966 graduate of Athens High School, she was employed for 30 years and retired from Ohio University, where she was an administrative assistant in psychology department. She was a lifelong area resident. In addition to her family, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and cross stitching.
Karyl is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. II and Carrie Jones of Nelsonville; a granddaughter and her husband, Katie and Brandon Gilden of Shade; a granddaughter, Kimberly Jones of Nelsonville; and two great grandchildren, Bradley and Samuel Gilden.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Jones. A private memorial service is planned at the convenience of the family.
