Kathy J. Hook, 72 of Glouster passed away Thursday January 18, 2024, at her residence. Born January 10, 1952, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Miles Kelly and Katherine E. Leach Crawford. Kathy retired from Ohio University after 19 years of service. She was a member of the Jacksonville Eagles. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and was known for her love and compassion for cats.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Hook of Glouster; a daughter, Stormy L. (Lee) Ball of Nelsonville; a son, Glen K. “Buddy” (Jennifer Evener) Vore of Glouster; grandchildren, Tyler, Macy, Marissa, Miles, Athena and Shelby; a great grandson, Bryson; and numerous friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Chad Hook; and brothers, Jim and Bob Crawford.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday January 22, 2024, at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Pastor Rick Seiter officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a celebration of Kathy’s life following the burial on Monday at the Jacksonville Eagles. All family and friends are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring a covered dish.
