Larry’s wishes were to be cremated with no services observed. At his request, his cremated remains will be scattered over Clingman’s Dome in North Carolina.

Lawrence Ray “Larry, Raz” Richards, 65 of Pomeroy, formerly of Glouster passed away Thursday April 27, 2023, in Newark. He was born April 26, 1958, in Nelsonville. He was a Navy veteran. Larry loved his job with ODNR where he worked for almost 30 years. His favorite part of the job was dredging. He was a member of the Bishopville Church of Christ. Larry loved being on his farm, cutting firewood and spending time with family and his grandchildren, who he adored.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tina D. Cowan Richards of Pomeroy; a daughter, Larina (Tyler) Sisson of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Heaven, Daisy and Irene Sisson and a grandchild arriving in November who will have the middle name of Ray; brothers, Chuck Richards of Chesterhill and Anthony “Nick” (Denise) Richards of Lancaster; a sister, Waynetta “Netta” Martin of Albany; a special friend, who felt like a brother, Bill Bopp of Johnstown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ray Richards; his mother, Alice McLaughlin Cartwright; his stepfather, William “Bill” Cartwright; and a brother, William “Bill” Richards.

Larry’s wishes were to be cremated with no services observed. At his request, his cremated remains will be scattered over Clingman’s Dome in North Carolina.
