To the editor,
We of the Athens Friends Meeting urge that the U.S. use its influence to help bring current conflicts in Gaza and in Ukraine to an end through diplomacy and negotiation.
People are suffering and dying; no one is winning. Winning for all will be when peace is achieved.
We urge the U.S. government to use its influence to promote immediate cease fires in both conflicts as initial steps toward peace, to be followed by negotiations for lasting peace and by provision of humanitarian aid to those who have suffered in those conflicts.
