Let’s make the changes Nelsonville-York students want to see

To the editor:

My name is Zach Hockman. I am excited to officially announce that I am running in the Nelsonville-York High School Freshman Class Officer Election and I am seeking the office of president.

Some information about me:

I have the honor of serving as Nelsonville-York Middle School Student Council president for the 2024–2025 school year. During my time as president, I have championed projects for young elementary students, such as a Halloween Parade around the school, various projects, fundraisers, helping plan our yearly dance, and more. Formerly serving as vice president, I have had the pleasure of serving in leadership positions for a large majority of my time on Nelsonville-York Middle School Student Council.

My campaign is focusing on integrity and overall enjoyment for students. Students have approached me about numerous issues within the school that they would like to see change. Nelsonville-York has done an overall decently good job, but students would like to see numerous things change. I will work to create a system in which students can voice their opinions and concerns to me and the other class officers so that we can help them make their visions and goals possible here at Nelsonville-York High School.

I would be honored to have all Nelsonville-York freshman’s vote in the upcoming election. If you are a student and would like to see something happen or think I should highlight something, please contact me.

Best wishes,

Zach Hockman
Candidate for Freshman Class President
