Lydia S. Jago

Lydia S. Jago, 84 of Amesville passed away Wednesday July 3, 2024, at the Laurels of Athens.  Born October 31, 1939, in Warsaw, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Doris Shrimplin.  She was an RN, retiring from Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center in Columbus.  She loved plants and enjoyed cooking and canning. She developed a love for animals as a result of growing up on a farm.  She used the money she made from selling a cow to pay for her nursing school.  Lydia was kind, considerate, and caring and cherished helping others. 

She is survived by her husband, Jack Jago; brothers, Tim (Cathy) Shrimplin, Danny (Kelly) Shrimplin, and Walter (Suzanne) Shrimplin; sisters, Nan Kristine Shrimplin and Joan (Jim) Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

A cremation has taken place.  The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
