CHAUNCEY — Mary Adelaide Hoskins-Bauman, 80, of Chauncey passed away May 27, 2023, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Millfield after a long battle with dementia. Mary was born on September 14, 1942, to Rebecca Carter and Carl Dodridge in Pomeroy, Ohio. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, Bert (Nora) Dodridge of Columbus, Ohio.
Mary was a 1960 graduate of Central High School in Columbus, Ohio. She went on to work and retire from the cashier’s office at Hocking College in Nelsonville.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and wife, Mary enjoyed baking for her family, watching Ohio State football and staying actively involved in her church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Mary is survived by her spouse Gary Bauman, as well as her departed husband, Thomas Hoskins, Sr., and their children, Gloria Jane (Gilbert) Phillips, Kim (Max) Hoskins and Thomas Hoskins, Jr. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Courtney (Isaac), Joshua, Crystal, Johnie, Stephanie and Thomas; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, parents and grandparents, Mary is preceded in death by a brother, Dean Dodridge; a son, Brad Hoskins; and a great-grandchild, Kaylan.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 OH-78, Glouster, with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Hilltop Cemetery located on McDougal Road, Millfield, Ohio 45761. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time
