ATHENS — Mary M. Hudnall, 79, of Athens, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at her home. Born Dec. 21, 1943, in Sandusky, she was the daughter of the late James C. Gates and Maymie Bartlett Gates.
A graduate of Athens High School, she had been employed at McHappy’s Bake Shoppe on Richland Avenue for several years. She had also been employed at the 7-Up Pepsi Bottling Plant and Ambassador Laundries. She enjoyed her family, cooking, scratch-offs and playing Solitaire on her iPhone.
Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Raymond E. Hudnall; a daughter, Kimberly Gates; four grandchildren, Jesse Gates, Cory (Carrie) Gates, Timothy (Carol-Ann) Parsons and Brandy (Corey) Stewart; three great-grandchildren, Gage Gates, Evelynn Stewart and Rose Stewart; and a great-grandchild on the way, C.J.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
