Nancy L. Sanders, 89 of Glouster passed away Monday July 1, 2024, at the Laurels of Athens. Born Jan. 2, 1935, in Trimble, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Beulah McCall Johnson. She worked as a cook for both the Burr Oak Lodge and Trimble Local Schools. She retired from the Village of Trimble where she worked for many years as a clerk. Nancy cherished every moment spent with her husband, children and grandchildren who referred to her as “NanNan”.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dow F. Sanders of Glouster; daughters, Mary Beth (Jeff) Coffman, Amy (Rocky) Exline, and Jane Dixon, all of Glouster; grandchildren, Valerie (Jonathan) Kasler of Glouster, Katie Coffman of Glouster, Erica (Jonathan) Rees of Fort Collins, CO, Megan (Patrick) Tegge of Glouster, Heather (Michael) Kaal of Elizabethton, TN, Matthew (Crystal) Dixon of Clover, SC, and Joel (Katie Owen) Dixon of Somerville, TN; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jillian Kasler, Cooper and Parker Kaal, Penelope “Poppy” Tegge, and Wyatt and Silas Dixon; a sister, Jacque Kuhne of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Patti Byers Johnson of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Teresa Sanders; a brother, Richard “Ricky” Johnson; an infant sister, Beth Ann Johnson; and a son-in-law, Matt Dixon.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday July 5, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Brad Seevers officiating. Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Visitation will take place on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
