Norman Eugene Redd

Norman Eugene Redd, 86, of Logan passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born May 9, 1936, in Webb Summit, Ohio, son of the late Levi Orlie and Mary Lemon Redd. 

Norman was married for 63 years to Shirley Burroughs Redd, who survives.

He retired from Smead Manufacturing in Logan after 45 years as the plant superintendent. Norman was a former member of the Army National Guard, a lifetime member of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church and formerly served on the board of Hocking Valley Industries. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. 

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Mark) Later of Logan and Diana (Jim) Skinner of Clarksburg, Ohio; grandchildren Ryan (Hayli) Skinner and Hannah (Joshua Harrington) Skinner; great-grandchild, Hudson Skinner; a sister, Shirley Bray of Madison, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Redd.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Neil Foster officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
