THE PLAINS, Ohio –– Alberta Jean Stanley, age 99, of The Plains, Ohio, passed away November 15, 2025, at Embassy of Logan.
Alberta was born October 9, 1926, in Doanville, Ohio to William Pancake and Cora Laudermilk Pancake. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and collecting porcelain dolls.
Surviving are her son Fred (Evelyn) Phillips of Carbon Hill; daughters Carolyn (Larry) Welch of Athens, Shirley (Roger) Mohler of Millfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Geneva Phillips of Logan, Diane Phillips of Athens.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husbands John Phillips, Richard Stanley; sons Edward Phillips, Gary Phillips; two grandsons; one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home, Nelsonville, Ohio. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Calling hours will be observed 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Letters of condolence may be sent here.
