
NELSONVILLE, Ohio –– Betty L. Davis, 83, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at The Laurels of Athens. Betty was born Dec. 29, 1941, in Dixie Hollow, Ohio, to Delbert and Helen Peacock. Betty used to go bowling and was an aux member of the American Legion of Murray City and of the Elks of Nelsonville.
Surviving are her children, Ralph “Tom” (Mary Ann) Davis and Vickie (Brent Webb) Davis; brothers, Jim (Jenny) Peacock and Tim (Angie) Peacock; four sisters, Wanda Dixon, Judy (John) Lonberger, Sharon (Rick) Mansfield, and Joann Alfman; sister-in-law, Peggy Peacock; grandchildren, Rob (Heather) Chubb, Kandi (Tim Gowen) Chubb, Michael (Jodie) Elliott, and Melissa Elliott; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends over the years; and beloved cat, Miss Dorothy.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Helen Peacock, and brothers, Kenneth Peacock and Billy Joe Peacock.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at the Brown Funeral Home of Murray City, Ohio, with Pastor Shelia Klinebriel officiating. Calling hours will be observed from 3–7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
