ALBANY, Ohio – Beverly Ann Hixson, age 88, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, formerly of Albany, Ohio, died Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2026, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Born April 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Bennett and Margaret Beatrice “Bea” Davis Bennett.
A graduate of Ames-Bern High School, she had been employed in food service at Ohio University and the Athens City School System. She had also been employed with United Security of Columbus. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed cooking and flower gardening. She had been residing with her grandson Greg and his wife Stephanie, in Flatwoods, KY, for five years.
Beverly is survived by her two sons, Robert (Kathy) Hixson of Columbus and Rick (Jackie) Hixson of Albany; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Fred E. Hixson, who died May 24, 2024; a son, Gary Hixson; a great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Hixson; two sisters, Donna Wilson and Shirley Bennett; and two brothers, Sam Bennett and Mont Bennett, who died Friday, April 3.
A graveside service will be conducted at Athens Memory Gardens 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, with Pastor Larry Swart officiating. There will be no calling hours.
