NEW STRAITSVILLE, Ohio – Charlotte M. Johnson, age 60, of New Straitsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at The Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born May 27, 1966, in Athens, Ohio, to Clifford and Virginia Misner, Charlotte grew into a woman known for her belief in God, strength, humor, and deep love for serving people around her. Charlotte and her dedicated husband, John of over 30 years, built a life on love, loyalty and friendship. She spent many years as a attentive bar manager at the Murray City American Legion Post 420, where she built friendships and supported veterans and her community.
Charlotte was a true nature lover who found peace in the woods, especially during mushroom season. She loved cooking, being outdoors, and sharing simple moments together, especially around a campfire. More than anything, Charlotte lived for her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest joy and blessing, and she poured her heart into every one of them.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; daughters Frankie “Renee” (Adam) Wilson, Debra Bell, Kimberly “Kim” (Alan) Lanning, Erica Johnson, and Rose (Dakota) Larson; grandchildren Josiah, Mason, Gaige, Kayden, Lily, Corbin, Karly, Aaron, and Emily; great‑grandchildren Emmanuel and Gabriella; and great‑grandson-to-be, Elliott; and grand-dog Kaner. Charlotte was endlessly proud of her grandkids; each one held a special place in her heart and she never missed a chance to brag about them.
Also surviving are her siblings Bonnie (Mike) Cox, Margaret (Mike) McGraw, Buck Misner, Les (Tina) Misner, Todd Misner, and Frieda (Nick) Gill, along with numerous friends who loved her dearly.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Shirley (survived by her husband Jimmy) Forrest and Tommy Thompson.
