NEW MARSHFIELD, Ohio – Chery Dee Lowry, age 80, of New Marshfield, died Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2026, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus. Born August 13, 1945 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Mary Andrews Keffer Brooks, and her mother’s late husband, and Kenneth Brooks.
A graduate of Waterloo High School, she was employed at Hickory Creek Nursing Center in Medical Records for over 20 years. She was a member of the New Marshfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fourwheeling, her flowers and gardening.
Chery is survived by a daughter, Shelly (Bill) Sams of New Marshfield; many nieces and nephews; and her sisters in law, Joyce Keffer of Venice, Florida, Glenna (Walter) Baldridge of New Marshfield and Una Mae Moore of Athens.
Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Earl Lowry in 2014; her daughter, Lynette Lowry in 2025; her brother, Jimmy Keffer; two nieces, Megan Keffer and Melissa Baker; a nephew, Greg Lowry; and a brother in law, Bud Lowry.
Family and friends may call Jagers & Sons Funeral Home in Athens from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 17. A memorial graveside service will be conducted at a later date at New Marshfield Cemetery.
