David Samuel Stevenson

ATHENS, Ohio –– David Samuel Stevenson, 55, of Athens, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. Born October 4, 1970 in Columbus, he was the son of Samuel Stevenson and Kathie Rice Stevenson of Jackson, Ohio.

A 1989 graduate of Jackson High School, he attended Ohio University. While at college he was a member of the Ohio University Marching Band, the Marching 110.  He was property manager at the Zenner House.  He had been a resident of Athens for over 30 years.

He was a member of Trowel Lodge 132 F&AM (Past Master) of Jackson, Savannah Lodge 466 F&AM (Past Master), Pomeroy Chapter 80 RAM (Past High Priest), Bosworth Council 46 R&SM (Past Illustrious Master), and Ohio Valley Commandery 24 KT (Past Commander).  He was a Knight of the York Cross of Honour. 

David is survived by his parents, Samual and Kathie Stevenson of Jackson; his wife of 32 years, Pamela Patton Stevenson; his son, Samuel (Emily Greer) Stevenson of Memphis, Michigan; his daughter, Erin Stevenson of Athens; his sister, Melissa (Troy) Kingrey of St. Marys, Ohio; his mother in law, Sandy (Gary Pratt) Patton of Athens; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents and great grandparents.

Family and friends may call 5–7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, 24 Morris Avenue, Athens, and also 5–7 Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home, 135 Broadway St., Jackson

Masonic Rites will be conducted at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral service with Rev. Janie Karl officiating.  Private burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Fairmont Cemetery, Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Masonic Communities Resource Center, 2655 W.
