Douglas Scott Ferguson

ATHENS, Ohio –– Douglas Scott Ferguson, 58, passed away unexpectedly January 25, 2026.

Born to P. Richard and Dorothy McGahan Ferguson, of Steubenville, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Horn) Ferguson, son Eric Ferguson, daughter Andrea Ferguson, and brother Richard (Janis) Ferguson.

He was a 1986 graduate of Buckeye North High, attended Bethany College, Ohio University (Business/Accounting), and Hocking College (Nursing). He graduated from Marine Boot Camp and served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany as well as Fort Drum. More importantly, he was a husband, father, and friend. He may not have always spoken the sweetest words, but he felt his feelings deeply and passionately. He will be remembered for his endless knowledge of seemingly infinite subjects and his many inventions. To those he allowed into his world, he will be remembered as the Mow-ron. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and he has left a hole in the hearts of those closest to him.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home in Athens, 4–6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7. Please share a memory, a note of condolence or sign the online register at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
