
NEW MARSHFIELD, Ohio –– Flossie Mae Hillen, 88, of New Marshfield, died Friday morning, January 23, 2026, at Kimes Nursing & Rehab Center in Athens. Born November 22, 1937 in New Marshfield, she was the daughter of the late Carl Ray McKibben and Iva Mary Darrington McKibben.
She was a graduate of Waterloo High School, where she was a drum majorette. She was a homemaker in the family home. She was the family caregiver, a good neighbor, and enjoyed going out to eat and shopping.
Flossie is survived by two daughters, Mary (Robert K.) Robinette of New Marshfield and Joyce Ann Chaffin of Louisa, KY; a son, Darrell Lee (Atina) Hillen of New Marshfield; four grandchildren, Erica, Crystal, Kayla and Matthew; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Joseph, Ashley, Jason, Colton and Amanda; a brother, Billy (Mary Ann) McKibben of New Marshfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell F. “Skip” Hillen, who died in 2011; two sisters, Evelyn Hager and Mary Champlin; eight brothers, Tommy, Elmer, Junior, Art, Rolland, Richard, Harold and Charley McKibben.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home in Athens with Rev. James Lambert officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
