Laura M. “Mae” Pratt

ALBANY, Ohio –– Laura M. “Mae” Pratt, 87 of Albany passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Kimes in Athens. 

Born in Athens April 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Nile and Mary Love. She formerly worked at Hartley’s Store in Glouster and the Glouster Community Bank before retiring from Ohio University.

 Mae attended the Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Albany and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Stars Thea Chapter 192 in Trimble.  She was known for her love of pets, always showing affection and care for animals. She also enjoyed watching the QVC channel.

She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Pratt of Albany; a son, David (Lynn) Hartley of Palm Coast, FL; a daughter, Jeri Dee Hartley-Lewis of Columbus; grandchildren, Ian Hartley of Brevard, NC, Seth (Erin) Lewis of Findlay, OH, Emily (Daniel) Malta of Palm Coast, FL, Jacob Lewis of Columbus, and Julie Lewis (Jason Reed) of Salt Lake City, UT; great grandchildren, Maddox, Stephen, and Raegan; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ted (Norma) Love and Bill (Jen) Love; and a nephew, Teddie Love.

A funeral service will held 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Rev.
