Linda McCatherine

A Catholic Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 13, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster. A visitation will be held from 5–8 Wednesday.

GLOUSTER, Ohio –– Linda D. McCatherine, 78, of Glouster and formerly of Columbus, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at her residence.

Born Nov. 11, 1946 in Powhatan Point, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred “Midge” Locke McManaway. 

She honorably served as an Army Veteran throughout the Vietnam Era, dedicating her efforts to the specialized field of cryptology. During her career, she also gained experience working for the CIA in Washington, D.C. Following her time in Washington, she continued her career with the United States Postal Service, ultimately retiring from her role as a clerk. 

In addition to her work with the government, she previously worked in the Garden Department at Lowe’s. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Glouster and the NRA. Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Michael D. McCatherine of Glouster; a daughter, Amber Noelle Moore of Glouster; two grandchildren, Connor and Keira Moore; a brother, Frank (Cindi) McManaway of Columbus; a niece, Shena (Joe) Sivertsen; and a nephew, Frank Ryan (Nicole) McManaway.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Brandon.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Nov. 13, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster with Fr. Jeremiah Hahn officiating. Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Army and the Combined Color Guard Unit. A visitation will be held from 5–8 Wednesday, at the church.
