Pearlie M. White

ALBANY, Ohio — Pearlie M. White, 82, of Albany, died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, 2025, at her home with her family. Born February 14, 1942, in Logan County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Fred Nelson and Mary Etta White Nelson.

She was employed at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital and the University Mall. She attended Alexander Presbyterian Church and enjoyed canning, cooking, raising her family and was the “Ultimate Grandma.” 

Pearlie is survived by three daughters, Linda Smith of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Sherry (Todd) Blevins of Columbia, South Carolina, and Angela Mackinnon of Athens; a son, Ralph Fred (Ryan) Gambill Jr. of Albany; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Fred Gambill Sr., who died in 2020; two sisters, Lura Damron and Glenna Watkins; and a brother, Leland Nelson.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, with Steve Hashman officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
