AMESVILLE, Ohio – In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 5, our sweet Skeeter slipped away to begin his next adventure, joining his old friends in the far-right corner of Heaven. As he would have appreciated, this is the only far-right thing he ever did.
Steve was a loving husband, father and a friend beyond compare. He loved his family and his many friends unconditionally.
Steve extended his hand in friendship to everyone he met. But the handshake was only the beginning. Once he had your hand, he would wrap his other arm around you, welcoming you with one of his unforgettable bear hugs.
His passing has left a tremendous hole in our hearts, but he also gave us a lifetime of precious memories. The laughter, kindness, and joyful moments he shared with all of us will remain forever imprinted on our hearts.
While we all wish he were still here with us, we find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved parents, Betty and James Shipley, and his cherished brother, Mark.
Steve will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Jackie; his daughter, Makenzie; his brother, Don (Sher); his sister-in-law, Melody; his extended family—the Whitleys, Hughes, Hoppers, and Bryants—and by a multitude of friends too numerous to count.
Though he is no longer by our side, his love, generosity, and warm embrace will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Condolences to Jacqueline Shipley, 17911 Sand Rock Road, Amesville, OH 45711 or online at www.jagersfuneralhome.com.
“The most important thing you will ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”
