WARNER ROBINS, Georgia — Clarence Wendel Shifflet, 86, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his residence. Born August 25, 1936, in Trimble, he was the son of the late Clarence and Florence Mays Shifflet.
He was a Navy veteran, retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad, and was a member of the Jacksonville VFW and the Jacksonville Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, June Shifflet of Warner Robins; two sisters, Virginia (Errol) Conkel of Buchtel and Donna Mingus of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Harold and Herschel and sisters Dorothea McClelland, Norma Love, Janet Courtney, and Wanda Courtney.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, with Jon Hanning officiating. There will be a military graveside service conducted by the U.S. Navy and the combined color guard unit. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
