Jeffrey Carter “LJ” Adams

Jeffrey Carter “LJ” Adams

Jeffrey Carter “LJ” Adams, 2, beloved son, grandson, brother, great-grandson and nephew, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital. Born June 11, 2020 in Parkersburg, WV, he was the son of Jeffrey Adams and Megan Koehler.

Though LJ only had two years of life with us, he had an everlasting impact on every person he touched. His infectious smile and laugh would light up an entire room and he gave the most loving hugs a 2-year-old could give. “Cocomelon” was his all-time favorite cartoon to watch, though he loved playing with his siblings even more.

LJ often would be found sitting on the front porch steps waiting for his daddy to come home from work and when he did, he would smile ear to ear as he gave him a hug and took his hat off his head (and would later hide his truck keys from him so he would stay longer). While his daddy would work, LJ loved to cook with his mommy in the kitchen and go on various Cocomelon and dancing adventures with his siblings and best friends. Some adventures would often become mischievous, though—it was not uncommon to find some broken eggs in the fridge after an adventure!

LJ left a special memory with all his friends and family he left behind. Whether it was building forts, playing video games, video calls with family, or sleepovers, his life was the best two years he could have wanted. Whenever a twinkle is seen in the sky, we will always know it’s LJ looking over us with his big smile.

Besides his loving parents, LJ is survived and deeply missed by his paternal grandparents Cindy and Steven Kelly; maternal grandmother, Nana Bernice Myers; paternal great-grandmother, Nana Jean Thomas; sisters Alyssa Brown, Savanna Adams, Madison Akonom, Natalie Bullock; brothers Tristan and Cameron Adams, Jason Eshleman; great-grandmother Nana Jean Thomas; uncle, Chad Adams.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Friends and family may call upon the family on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with end-of-life expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where you are encouraged to sign the online guestbook, contribute to end-of-life expenses, or view a tribute video honoring LJ’s life at www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
