Ohio Department of Transportation
- U.S. 33 Athens-Meigs expansion: A two-lane to four-lane expansion project is taking place on U.S. 33 from Athens to Darwin and Five Points to Ravenswood. Lane closures will be in place in both directions on U.S. 33 between Pleasant Hill Road and Oxley Road. Rolling roadblocks will be in place during rock blasts. Flaggers will maintain traffic at side roads intermittently. Estimated completion: 2028.
Athens
- SR 682/56 roundabout: Construction of a roundabout and sidewalks at the intersection continues. The city’s website on the project is out of date and the Independent has been unable to get a completion date.
Amesville
- County Road 94–Kuhns Road will be closed indefinitely between the intersections of CR 37–West Kasler Creek Rd & CR 99- Robinson Rd due to an undermined culvert. A plan for repair is in the works- we will send updates as they become available.
Nelsonville
- Nelsonville Public Square partially closed: The east side of the Public Square is closed and barricaded to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic from the Dew House to the end of Rhapsody restaurant until further notice.
