ATHENS- Phillip Steven Hewitt, 36, of Athens died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023 at his home. Born Jan. 13, 1987 in Athens, he is the son of Steven Arthur Hewitt and Mary Beth Coffman Hewitt of The Plains.
A graduate of Athens High School. Phillip enjoyed playing football and baseball throughout his life. The biggest Steelers fan in Ohio. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing pool, target shooting / reloading, wood working and was an excellent mechanic, he had been employed at Athens Mold and Machine and Lowe’s of Athens.
Phillip is survived by his parents; a sister, Bethany (Brandon) Lackey of Stewart; three brothers, Derrick Hewitt, Shawn Hewitt and Christopher Hewitt all of The Plains; also surviving are three nieces (Chloe Hewitt, Hanna Hewitt, and Aria Lackey), two nephews (Caden Hewitt, and Holden Hewitt) and several aunts, uncles and cousins and his girlfriend Jonnette.
A private family service will be observed. Arrangements are with Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
