electric vehicle shuttle bus to the Athens Public Transit

Public bus route changes begin Monday, Aug. 9

Athens Public Transit (APT) will make the following service changes, effective Monday, Aug. 5.

Effective Monday, Aug. 5–Friday, Aug. 9 (Athens County Fair Week):

The city of Athens will open West Union Street to two-way traffic during fair week. However, Athens Public Transit will continue to detour around the area due to safety and congestion concerns. We will not stop between OH-682 and the interaction of West Union and Shafter. This includes the following Line 5 and 6 stops:

  • The intersection of West Union St & the bikeway
  • The intersection of West Union St & Herrold Ave
  • The stops at Seaman’s and the Health Department

Riders can catch Lines 5 & 6 at the Ohio Health complex or the stop at the West Union St & Shafer St intersection.
