Randle S. Murphy, 47 of Glouster, passed away Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on September 18, 1977, in Athens. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and deer hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Richards Murphy; a brother Shaun Murphy; Savannah Richmond and Navaeh Nicole Murphy, whom he thought of as daughters; a grandson Evan; nephews Shaun Michael Cunningham and Isaac Jakob Murphy; uncles Dusty (Elaine) Murphy, Jim (Peggy) Richards, John Richards and Lee Martin; aunts Alice Duncan, who was very close and special to him, Sherry McDonald, and Debbie Murphy; cousins Brenda, Tonya, David, Kenda, Melissa, Gary, Amanda, Jimmy, Barbie, Loretta, Susan, Kenny Jr., Betty, Alicia, Rebecca, Jerry, Doug, Heidi, Megan, Jessica, Jeremy, Tanya, Tabitha, Brandon, Jenetta, Karla, and Tasha; great aunts Sharon McLaughlin, Pauline Goddard, Karen Lee Degarmore, and Kay Carter; and special school friends Mike Smith, Dusty Waldeck, Jason Vess, and John Townley.
He was preceded in death by his father Randle G. Murphy; grandparents Joseph and Betty Richards and James and Dorothy Murphy; uncles Brent Murphy, Jim Murphy, Gary (Linda) Richards, Kenny (Margie Richards Webb) Richards, David Joe (Marlene) Richards, and Charles Duncan; aunts Naketa Martin and an infant Linda Diane Richards; and cousins John Richards and Misty Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 18, 2025, at Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, with Pastor Elijah Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 17, 2025, from 5 – 8 p.m., and from noon until the time of the service on Friday.
