THE PLAINS, Ohio –– East 1st Street in The Plains, just east of the Athens City School’s bus garage, will be closed to traffic starting 7 a.m. Monday, Feb 9, for an excavation to set a sanitary manhole to service the apartment building site known as The Lofts on East 1st Street. Road closed ahead and detour signage will be in place. The closure could last 3-4 days depending upon weather and unforeseen site conditions. Those residences beyond the excavation site will need to use Arbor Drive, Jackson Drive and Johnson Road as an alternative access route.
