Sharon K. Thompson, 66 of Albany, passed away Sunday September 13, 2026, at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens. Born April 13, 1960, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Grace M. Patterson Burdette. She enjoyed drinking coffee, coloring, and above all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughters, Amber (Brian) Sedwick of Glouster and Patricia (John Welch) Eblin of Athens; granddaughter, Kenzie (James Dillon) Shreves of Albany; three great grandchildren, Audrey, Maya, and James; a brother, Bill Burdette; sisters, Nancy Heller, Lisa Newman, and Christy Carpenter; a friend, Homer Dillon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thompson; her grandmother who raised her, Maxine Burdette; brothers, Bub and Thomas Burdette; and a sister, Cheryl Burdette.
