Sheila Tomassetti

Sheila Tomassetti (Hatch / Shamhart), 78 years old, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at Kimes Nursing Home. She was born in Athens, Ohio on July 10, 1946.

Sheila is survived by her two sons, Scott (Stacey) Shamhart and Steve (Amber) Shamhart, stepdaughter, Rhian Tomassetti, nieces, Tarry Barklay, Joanie (Mike) Kilgore, Helen (Bob) Martin, Suzanne Douglas, nephews, Todd (Dee) Hatch, Max Carsey, Craig (Laura) Douglas, grandchildren, Mandi (Corey) Arnold, Brandi (Bill) Morgan, Steven Shamhart, Sierra Shamhart, Mykah Tomassetti, Arashel Holland, Dakari Parker, Lillean Rose Parker, great grandchild, Elliott Arnold, sisters-in-law, Ramona Douglas, Connie Hatch, Sharon Tomassetti, Jane Tomassetti-Moldenhauer, brothers-in-law, Tom Douglas, Mark Tomassetti.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tomassetti, father, Ashford Hatch, mother, Wanda Hatch, brother, Morris Hatch, brother-in-law David Carsey, and sister-in-law, Anita Carsey.

Sheila was a true believer in Christ Jesus, the son of God. She enjoyed attending church and having fellowship with her church members. Also, Sheila thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. Opening presents at Christmas, dinner on Thanksgiving, and celebrating family birthdays were all favorite activities. Additionally, she worked several positions, including United Telephone, IGA, Burr Oak Lodge, Sundry Store, and State Farm. Sheila worked to support her family, but she was “very” happy to retire and never clock in to work again. Lastly, Sheila was simply the sweetest and kindest person to know and was loved by everyone.  She had the most gentle heart and beautiful spirit.   

A celebration of life will be held at Cornerstone Harvest Church, 8780 Old State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio, 45732, on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at 1pm. (casual dress). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cornerstone Harvest Church.
