Nelsonville boil order: The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for all customers on East Franklin and Fort streets from West Washington to East Franklin streets until 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 24. The boil order is due to crews tying into a new water line. All who are affected should boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.

OU Move Out help: The Athens-Hocking Solid Waste District seeks volunteers to help at donation sites for Ohio University’s move-out May 2–3. The program keeps reusable or recyclable items out of landfills.
Subscribe to local food: The Chesterhill Produce Auction is accepting memberships for its 2024 Buying Club. Members receive a weekly box of produce from local growers from May 14 to Oct. 25. Shares range from $19/week for 5 pounds of produce to $45/week for 20 pounds. Sign up by April 29.
Audit released: The Ohio auditor’s office has released its financial audit of Nelsonville-York City School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2022.
Traffic advisories
Nelsonville Public Square will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28, for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K Run and Walk.
Ohio Department of Transportation projects:
- U.S. 50 traffic signal replacement: U.S. 50 at Washington Road/Meadowbrook Road in Albany. Short-term lane closures with flaggers. Under way. Expected completion: October.
- U.S. 50 joint repair and resurfacing: From Della Drive to River Road and from Vanderhoof Road to SR 7; lane restrictions. Under way. Expected completion: August.
- SR 690 resurfacing: Between U.S. 50 and SR 550. Begins April 29. Short-term lane closures with flaggers. Expected completion: July 31.
