- Trimble Local Board of Education: Special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 22, Trimble Local School District Office, 1 Tomcat Drive, Glouster. The meeting will include an executive session to discuss personnel.
- Athens County Board of Elections: Official count, board office, 15 S. Court St. #130, Athens at 9 a.m. Friday, May 23; special board meeting at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 23 to certify the May 2025 primary election.
- Nelsonville Redistricting Town Hall: 6–8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, Nelsonville Public Library, 95 W. Washington St., Nelsonville. Hosted by the League of Women Voters of Athens County.
General
- Athens hydrant flushing: The fire department will be flushing and testing hydrants Tuesday, May 20, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. on Stimson Ave. and streets: Campbell, Elliot, Mill, Hocking, North 1804 Way, Oak, Palmer and South Green Drive. Traffic
- Athens County: Diamond Brick Road (CR 33B), temporary one-lane road closure 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday–Thursday between 17196 Diamond Brick Rd and Dana’s Tire (near 751 W Washington St). Expected completion: May 23.
- Chauncey: Phase 2 Sewer Project, sewer installation May 19–26: Ellis Street, between Nye and Converse streets.
- Ohio Department of Transportation:
- U.S. 33 and SR 682 roundabout: Traffic maintained by flaggers on SR 682. Right shoulder closed on U.S. 33 westbound. SR 682 ramp to U.S. 33 westbound closed April 1 through Aug. 1. Estimated completion: Oct. 31.
- SR 7 resurfacing: Meigs County line to Church Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: July 15.
- Coolville RCUT: Construction begins on May 27 on U.S. 50 at Coolville. Lane closures will be in place in both directions.

- Free plant starts: Community Food Initiatives Annual Plant Start Giveaway begins this week. Plant donations are still being accepted; email cfi@communityfoodinitiatives.org to coordinate.
