Thomas Russell Embrey, 77 of Glouster passed away Thursday March 5, 2026, at the Edgewood Manor in Wellston. Born October 14, 1948, in Athens, he was the son of the late William and Mary Lou Whitlatch Embrey. He served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he was employed at Peabody Coal Company in New Lexington. Later in his career, he worked as a corrections officer for SEPTA, from which he eventually retired. He was a lifetime member of the Glouster Eagles and a member of the Jacksonville Eagles. Tom’s interests included golfing and fishing.
He is survived by siblings, Arlene (Paul) Morris, Mary Lou (Ron) Russell, and Willie Embrey; a daughter, Tammy (Mike) Keith; grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Michelle Keith, Gillian, Desiree, Johnnie and Gavin Coey; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Linda Embrey McLain.
Besides his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Buck Morgan; a son, John Coey; grandson, Chris Keith; and a special friend, Regina Williams.
