ATHENS, Ohio – Earlier this summer, the City of Athens and Ohio University provided a map which gave the road closure locations and estimated dates of the closures, along with detour routes. Now that we’re half-way through summer, we wanted to provide the attached updated map, removing completed projects and updating details as needed. We want to specifically note that the Uptown Utilities project will now require a lane closure from 7/27 to 8/14. This closure only impacts west-bound traffic on Carpenter Street. After the Uptown Utilities closure is complete, construction will continue with restricted or flagged traffic from time to time. Please drive under the speed limit in work zones and take extra precautions to protect workers. We will issue updated project-specific notices if dates or locations shift.
