GLOUSTER — Vincent Angelo Barbuto, Jr., 88, of Glouster passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. Born December 15, 1934, in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Elvira “Elsie” DeMarco Barbuto.  

Vincent was an Army corporal who served in the Korean War, where he piloted Huey helicopters. He was fortunate to do many things he loved throughout his life: He manufactured fireworks, raced speedboats, and raced in a stock car named “The Deuce.” He formerly owned and operated Vince’s Auto Transmission Service in Schenectady and Vince’s Auto Service in Cleburne, Texas. Hewas an extremely skilled master mechanic. He also built homes for his family. Vince was strong, caring, and loving. He was a role model and the epitome of what a man should be. He was loyal, respected, admired, and loved greatly. He has left a legacy behind for generations to come.

He is survived by his wife, Maylene Polly Barbuto of Glouster; a son, Shawn Everette (Kimberly) Secen of Lancaster, Ohio; three daughters, Debbie Elizabeth (Johnny) Terrell of Mineral Wells, Texas, Sabrina Marie Pierce of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Gina Marie (Roy) Harris of Mineral Wells, Texas; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Beverly Amorosi and Donna (Renato) Cellupica, both of of Schenectady.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Arnold Vincent Secen, Jr.; great-grandsons Jaxon Barham and Andrew Gavin Marsh; a great-granddaughter, Mykayla Marsh; and a sister, Carole Ann Dunn.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, March 27, 2023, at River Valley Life Center, 2190 Coonpath Road NW, Lancaster, with Pastor Dave Kiner officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster, immediately following the service. Following the interment, friends and family are invited back to the church to share a meal and memories of Vincent.
