Waneta Nogrady

POMEROY, Ohio — Waneta Nogrady, 86, formerly of Glouster, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at her residence. Born November 13, 1937, in Moxahala, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Sr. and Viola Saxton Dunwoody. She was a member of the Glouster Three Star Senior Citizens, Glouster Moose, Jacksonville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and Kasler’s Coffee Club. Waneta enjoyed movies and was a regular at Movies 10 in Nelsonville. She also enjoyed crafting, working word searches, watching westerns and listening to Elvis. 

She is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Zimmer of Pomeroy and Tarah L. Nogrady of Millfield; a son, Benjamin J. Nogrady of Pomeroy; a sister, Nellie (Ben) Kirkbride of Zanesville; Bill Dunwoody of Toledo, who she thought of as a brother; a special niece, Peggy (Dan) Jarvis of Bremen; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy “Tank” Zimmer; her second husband, Benjamin Nogrady; a grandson, Shane W. Henderson; three infant children; six brothers; and eight sisters. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 6, 2023, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, with John Wright officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
