ATHENS- William Allen McCammon, age 85. of Athens died early Thursday morning, May 2, 2024 at Kimes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Athens. Born April 28, 1939 in Ashland, he was the son of the late Russell E. McCammon and Luella Bartlett McCammon.
A graduate of Athens High School, he was employed at McBee’s Corp. and retired from Ohio University after 31 ½ years of service as a Building Services Superintendent. He was a member of Blackburn Hill Church of Christ and Athens Elks BPOE 973. Family was most important to William. He was a longtime resident of Athens.
William is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa Varner McCammon. Beside his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert McCammon.
