Obituaries

Friends may call Wednesday March 11, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens.  Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, Athens with Rev. Phil Foster officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.

A cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life held at a later date. 

In honor of Joe’s humble nature and request, no formal funeral will be held. He will be commemorated with a celebration of life and military honors at a later date.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. David Roach officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted noon Monday, March 3, at West Union St. Cemetery.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 3, 2026 at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Rocky Exline officiating.

THE PLAINS, Ohio — Rheta (Brooks) Maccombs, 91, of The Plains, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home. Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Per Carolyn’s request, no funeral service will be observed.
