Athens City Council meeting for March 9, 2026 canceled
Athens City Council has announced that its meeting scheduled for Monday, March 9, has been canceled. The next regular session of the Athens City Council will be held on Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Jacobs Drive waterline installation, week of February 23, 2026
A contractor will be performing work within the public right-of-way for a utility improvement project, which includes the installation of a new 6-inch waterline along Jacobs Drive, from Stoneybrook Drive to Graham Drive.

Franklin Avenue closed in Athens: Feb. 12, 2026
Franklin Avenue will be closed from Spring Street to Madison Avenue, and Madison Avenue southbound lane will be closed from Spring Street to State Street Thursday, Feb. 12. The work will begin at 8:30 a.m.
